The Brief
Specialist food marketing agency, Ceres PR, asked Symbiosis to help implement the Home of Good Taste Tour, taking the Mary Berry’s Foods brand on the road to foodie events across the country. The brief was to design a flexible stand structuhttp://www.maryberrysfoods.co.uk/re that would perform as well in an outdoor marquee as in an exhibition hall. It must be open and welcoming, almost like stepping to Mary’s own kitchen. The quality and styling had to reflect the core brand values while allowing plenty of space for product sampling and retail displays.
Our Response
Working closely with the Ceres team, we created a large ‘U’ shaped sampling counter to encouraged visitors to taste and buy the range of salad dressings, vinaigrette, chutney’s and pickles. Ample product storage was hidden under the beech block worktop allowing for easy restocking. A large prep kitchen was concealed to the rear while further counter and wall mounted floating shelves offered addition product display space.
The Result
Mary Berry’s Home of Good Taste Tour got of to a great start at the Foodies Festival Brighton. The three day event (29 April-1 May) was very well attended despite the mixed Bank Holiday weather, which proved a good test for our new weatherproof marquee. Sales were brisk and we were delighted to beat last years figures.
Our flexible stand design made it’s next appearance at the BBC Good Food Summer show at the NEC Birmingham.
The U-shaped counter was enlarged to fill the available space and offered lots of room to sample and purchase the delicious range of products. A great highlight for our at show team was a stand visit by the lady herself – Mary Berry.
The outdoor stand has successfully completed Foodies Festivals in Edinburgh, Alexandra Palace, and its final event, the Thame Food Festival.
